Metro win sees VMG expand digital transport network in Delhi
7th Jul 2010
Following on from the company’s major success in winning the contract to install a digitalised advertising and information network at Delhi International Airport, VMG India has now secured the digital adverting rights for 25 premium underground stations in the capital. The 8 year deal with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is in conjunction with media sales partners BIG Street, the out-of-home (OOH) arm of Reliance Broadcast network Limited (previously Reliance Media World Ltd.) and best known for being India’s largest radio network operator.
These sites, with an estimated footfall of one million passengers a day, present significant revenue potential in one of the world’s fastest developing regions, where advertising growth continues to surge. VMG India will be installing the same ‘InfoPod’ product that is currently being installed in Terminals 1 & 2 at Delhi International Airport, one of the largest and busiest international airports on the sub-continent. These include pin sharp high definition LCD screens, back-to-back, and touchscreen wayfinder and travel information panels.
This new contract win establishes VMG India's credentials at the forefront of the nation's OOH advertising contractors and the unchallenged digital leaders in public transport in the capital.
Commenting of this significant success VMG Global Chief Executive, Dominic Brookman said:
“Without doubt, the quality of our products and passenger services is fundamental to DMRC’s strategy to deliver the most advanced underground system in the world. And we're delighted to be working in partnership with BIG Street to optimise the huge revenue potential of the screens. It’s a very exciting time as we continue to pioneer digital in India’s accelerating advertising industry.”
